A photo I took of a friends buck he killed about 19 yrs ago now in South Texas. He was wide....32 3/8" inside and was not the widest buck killed that year in South Texas. 6x6 frame with 3 small NT points. His typical frame was low 190's gross and gross total was just over 200".

He was a 6x6 about 27" or so inside....probably mid 170 gross. The owner hunted for him all season and when he found him, he passed to let him go one more year. He thought he was only 4 that year. He went up about 30" in gross and about 5" in spread in that one year. I flew the survey the year he killed him....I never saw this buck. He killed him the next morning right where I was looking for him in the survey. I still have some old video of him from the year before from the helo.

Good friend and long time hunting partner killed a 32” IS in 2004. Almost 170 with small matching double drops. He said it won all contests for widest that year but some HF came in wider he thought.

I was wrong on my time frame......it was killed in late October 2005 MLD. The deer that won all the contests was measured 2/8" wider inside that year. The man the killed this 32 3/8" inside also killed another 30 6/8" inside spread on his ranch in the Hill Country the same season. He was on a roll on 30"+ inside spread bucks that season.
