We used to go over to the Varner-Hogg Plantation in west Columbia. Kids always found it funny that a father would name his daughter "Ima Hogg!!"

Haven’t met a Mulva. Back when I was dating, girls had what you might call standard names - Debbie, Gail, Linda, Diane, Maryann, Adele, Donna, Mary. These days girl names have gotten a bit different. Just among the tennis kids I’ve met a Mackenzie, Sidney, Peyton, Elle, Lacey, Janay, Hadley, Hannah, Lexi, Leanna, Andy, and a few that don’t come to mind right now.
Of course, what I call standard girl names would sound odd to someone from the 1920’s and before. I wonder what common names were in use back then. My Grandmother’s first name was Willie. Born in about 1890.

We have a friend named Melva. There's a Darthula back on my mom's side. 'Think she was a great aunt of my mom. Buried with her parents, Prussian immigrants, in Columbus, TX.
'Dated a Melody in high school a short while. Very well endowed. 'Probably big as a house by now.

What 603 was gonna say, after he got back from memory lane, was ‘there was this stripper named Grace’ he used to know. Not an unusual name but an absolutely perfect ……
Back in the trading days, it was my tough job to entertain clients in these dancing establishments. I got to know many young ladies that worked there. Strictly table dances, and nothing more. Of course, I had my favorites. How could I not? I admired many a backside (and front side). Grace was spectacular…visually.

My mom was a Cajun named Lucy Giroir (pronounced "ger-wa"). Her sisters were Undean and Yunis.
I always joked the Undean Giroir and Yunis Giroir sounded like medical conditions.
