Looking into buying the Super Black Eagle 3 in either 20 or 28 gauge. I have already checked out able ammo but seeing if anyone knows of somewhere cheaper or a website they’ve had good success ordering from and shipping to an FFL?

The Kentucky Gun Company has made me a couple of great deals on shotguns and was quick to ship. I highly recommend them.

I've bought several guns off gunbroker over the years, always had good transactions. Just look at the sellers reviews for any red flags.

If you use gunbroker, read the fine print. You can get some items without the 3% credit card charge and free ground shipping. Look for Reeds Sports and Eurooptic, they always offer that.

Scheels in The Colony had them last year. Not sure what they have in stock. If you are a right handed shooter, it should be pretty easy to find. Im a lefty, so I always have to order my guns. Sucks! lol.

I ordered the 28ga back in February or March. I was told they probably wouldn't come in until July. I was also told Benelli was only doing a run of 1500 of the 28s to see gauge demand and see how quickly they sold thru.
If this SBE3 will cycle my 5/8oz TSS duck loads, I'm going to sell my UltraLight and TriStar 28s.

I would add Dunn's Sporting Goods as another good company to deal with. Several transactions with them and all were simple and easy.

Is the 28ga on a true 28ga frame? Or still a 12 ga frame with a 28ga barrel?
I really want a 28ga auto, just can't find one I really like.

I really want a 28ga auto, just can't find one I really like. 28ga frame, same for UltraLight, and same for TriStar. In fact, I don't know that I've ever seen a 28ga built on a 12ga frame. Now 20ga frame, yes!

Sucks! lol. I'm a lefty and I have only bought RH Benellis. You can shim your stock for the right cast while you're getting your drop right, the safety is easy to swap sides, and I swap my buttpads to LH versions for the correct form.

Buy a Maxus 2. SBE3 shoots high. Maxus doesn't come in 20 gauge that's what the OP is wanting. Have you played with te shims on your Benelli? Increase the drop at the comb should lower your pattern.

Just bought 20GA SBEIII @ Cabelas. 28 inch barrel. Just a warning- even after shimming the gun, the SBE shoots very high. Documented issue. They claim it’s European style shooting. Bird target basically above barrel. I prefer 50-50 pattern of 60/40. Got it to shoot 50-50 at 30+ yards, but most shots typically on decoying Ducks at 20 or less.
Make sure you pattern you gun if u buy one.

Reed's just called me. I've been on a waiting list, and their shipment arrived today. SBE3 28ga in route to TX. Hopefully it cycles my TSS duck loads.

Picked up my SBE3 28ga yesterday. Initial impression are: -like the new case. it's similar to a rectangular O/U breakdown case. Will make it much easier to stack and store than those old Benelli plastic cases -Finally factory extended chokes!!! Not sure I've ever used a flush fit factory choke in any of my shotguns. How they pattern yet to be determined, but at least it's not straight to an aftermarket choke maker for extended chokes -Top of the receiver integrated into the barrel like my SBE 12ga and UltraLight 28ga. Really like this as it makes it easier to clean. The M1s and M2s are a PIA to clean compared to the models where the trigger group and bolt slide are exposed once the barrel is off. Assembly was a little difficult, but this could just be to be a NIB gun that isn't broke in yet and being unfamiliar with the design. Took me a while to get the barrel to properly fit in the extra receiver piece and integrate with the bolt. -Was hoping the gun would be a little heavier than my UltraLight, but it is not. Gun still feels pretty whippy and will have concentrate on not swinging past secondary targets like with the UltraLight -Definitely like the 28' barrel and the fiber optic front bead compared to the UltraLight -Still not a fan of the carbon fiber rib and have never been a fan of the high rib. SBE3 has the high rib like my M2 20ga compared to flat rib on my SBE and Ultralight -Overall happy with the gun. It's a Benelli in a black/synthetic configuration in 28ga now that I don't have to worry about while duck hunting like I did with the fax wood/blue UltraLight -Will it cycle the lighter duck loads I've developed is now the million dollar question! ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-692-354545-7d0b4830_e478_464b_9e1d_2f52878085c3.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-692-354546-68c4bdae_7975_4086_960a_06840683b161.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-692-354547-12d93502_1565_4988_9d3b_272f2eb1fa8e.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-692-354548-c32875e9_6c28_4c5b_9c67_98f9cc1a5809.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-692-354549-59b29837_92af_4032_bdeb_6704763179ae.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-692-354550-66166df1_ecdd_406f_9fdf_ade241e40db2.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-692-354551-9ad48100_b2bc_40a3_b7e8_4826050c2ce5.jpeg)

This thread really makes me want a 28ga. I've been eyeing them for several years now, just haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Probably just a matter of time before one gets added to the collection.
