Only way to counter is legislation for serious repercussions for red law abuse.

Subjectivity lets in the opportunity for much abuse. Look at the collusion that occupied the last presidential term. The anti crowd has proved for a long time that if you get enough of the right people to continually spout the same rhetoric a lot of people will succumb to that belief
