Almost had an incident with a neighbor’s pit Bull a couple of weeks ago. We were getting ready to take a walk around our neighborhood. My wife, son, and our GSD. I was getting my son situated on his bike and putting his helmet on with my back to my wife. Other neighbor right across the street was mowing his lawn. He started yelling something but I couldn’t make it out. Turned around and that pit from a few doors down was running strait at my wife which had the leash to my GSD. Hans didn’t hesitate and latched ahold of that Pit at the top of his shoulder blade. The Pit was trying to lash around to bite back but Hans had him in the perfect place nothing the Pit did would allow his head around to bite. I ran over and grabbed the leash from my wife and told her to get our son back. I was pulling with everything I had and Hans was not letting go. Finally I had to yell really sternly at Hans and give him a little pop on the head and he finally released. That Pit took off limping on 3 legs back to his house. Pissed me off they didn’t have that thing on a leash. The owner of course said I’m so sorry about that, she just loves to play and wouldn’t hurt anyone. I said well my dog doesn’t know that when that Pit is running directly at my wife he was just protecting her. Just recently a couple of days ago I see the dog out in the front yard with no leash again while he is out front working in the yard. I was very proud of Hans he is giant teddy bear, but I guess don’t run at momma or Colt because he’ll get ya lol.

Someone brought a german shepherd to a park and my daughter, probably 7 at the time, walked by and the dog went to bite her but only could grab her shirt and threw her down. The dog was doing its very best to attack my daughter after she fell but the guy had it on a leash and was pulling for his life. I jumped on my kid and pulled her away. I didnt have my sidearm but I would not have hesitated to put that dog down where it stood.

My Blue Lacy could find wounded/dead game, she just chooses not to. Here she is, doing what she does best, with her recently departed buddy.

Had a lab that was one of the sweetest dogs you can imagine. Never met a stranger, not the least bit gun shy, would play with kids until the kids wore out, and even liked to be around cats. But if fireworks started going off anywhere close, someone was getting bit. I had to really watch him around July 4 and New Year's.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.
