Hopefully, this thing will let me shoot the pig that I missed last week. I grabbed the 260 and shot a few off the bench, to make sure it was dead on. It is. Then I set up the tripod and cranked off a few rounds at 100 yards. To be right on target, I had to fiddle with the various clamps and tighten them down, but was able to put a few rounds right on the money. But…that was at 100 yards, and the hog shot from where the tripod will be is 256 yards from the feeder. Even with the Bog Pod, there is some wiggle at 100 yards. I tried shooting with the sling wrapped on my forearm, and I tried with the left hand to steady the stock on my right shoulder.

If the hog shows up tonight, I’ll go for heart/lung. Bigger kill zone. If he doesn’t show up tonight, I think I’ll try the tripod tomorrow while shooting from a chair.

Any Bog Pod shooting tips would be appreciated.

Are you able to rest your elbows? Are you sitting? Can’t lay down? Low enough chair and you can rest elbows on knees.
Good luck.

I shot from a standing position. I’m thinking that sitting might be better, if there’s a way to stabilize my elbows on the chair. We’ll see.

Put you a patio chair down there. At 260 yards he won't hear you get in the chair.

Took Angus’s advice. Put the tripod in position, lowered it to shoot from a chair, and put a chair in position. Tried it out with the rifle, and this should work just fine. And, I put out some really smelly corn. Let the games begin…
