If you have enough barrel diameter forward of the current chamber, yes.

I can understand why some gun smith's would make it so cost prohibitive that it is a few dollars more to buy a new barrel blank and start again.

The magnum belt on the 300 WM is .532" and the case web area of the 300 PRC is .532". They are the same width at the belt. The PRC is .040" shorter than a 300 Win Mag, and the PRC shoulder is .084" shorter at the case shoulder/neck junction. So, I would think it would be an easy change. You'd have to run the reamer in a little more for the case length and the shoulder difference. But it would be doable, yes.

Exactly...not to mention, how straight is that WM chamber? confused2 That is now the new smiths problem.

My recommendation would be sell the WM barrel and buy a new barrel...grand scheme of things, barrels are cheap and they make them while we sleep at nite wink

Good luck with what ever you end up doing.
