Besides "Don't Go"

What should I do at Disney world?

Yea, yea, it's a long story and my man card will be suspended for a while by the THF'ers

Surely one of yall's grandkids has drug you there against your will.

#1, rent a scooter, after that IDK.

What's the deal? Going with kids? Just you and a lady friend? How long?

My general advice is to drink a wide variety of adult beverages at Epcot.

Take out a home equity loan to pony up those ridiculous prices. Food & drink are pretty decent but holy cow they sock it to you. Lots of sunscreen too, and comfy shoes.

Do not do the small world ride, you will never get that tune out of your head if you do.

You taking kids? Or a lady friend? If the later then go to the boardwalk after dark. Hit the Abacadabra Bar.

Not sure fun is the best adjective. It can be very entertaining though.

Buzz your biggest issue will be dining reservations if you are going in the next 90days. Your better restaurant are booked out pretty far. Especially the better Disney Springs ones

GF's father sold that 25K acres of swamp to Walt in the early 60's. Coulda/woulda/shoulda stayed an life might be different now. I went to Disneyland once, Disneyworld twice, but EPCOT dozens of times. I'm fascinated by the technology and all the World exhibits. Cheapest thing is parking at $20 a day, and the rest is a couple hundred well spent. Look on the bright side and enjoy, rather than focusing on negatives!!

Disney is pretty freaking awesome! I fought my wife for years to not go and lost eventually. But I don’t regret it. But it’s pricey just like everything else. Try going to Hawaii like we are doing in 3 weeks, holy cow expensive!!

Girlfriend's kids and grand daughters

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN IT RAINS? Looks like some Tropical type showers everyday

UBER's easy to get from Resort to Disney World? Ours is not "on the property"

I'm thinking animal kingdom safari
Avatar Ride (virtual)
some car race things

reservations have been made by GF's daughter for everything

I like the easy rides and air conditioning.

thought about a guided bass fishing trip on Disney Lakes

also just hanging out at the pool at our Resort if its all too brain overload for me.

Thanks now it’s in my head. grin Truth is I’d love to go back to that time when my daughter was little and watch her eyes light up on that ride.

I’ve never considered a fun versus entertaining philosophical discussion before but the concept is fascinating. In retrospect, thinking through past experiences, I’ve described an event as entertaining when it wasn’t terribly punishing, but not hated.

I used to work for a major automation alliance parter with Disney. We would have sales meetings and other meetings inside the park. Inside Disney there are various interesting conference rooms with completely unusual and sort of hidden access points. Anytime I went there, always planned a free day before or after. We were encouraged to go enjoy and provided a pass.

Imagine going to Magic Kingdom by yourself without much expectation, thinking of your previous experience, herding kids. Soon you’re having an ice cream, then you see those characters, experience a few attractions, and before long you find yourself riding on small world.

You end the day full of fun, joy and happiness.

I guess Disney is cool for some people. Not me, it may have been the worse several days of my life. It was hot, humid, crowded. I hate crowds and waiting in line.
There is a line for everything.

The sad highlight of my trip was staying at the Embassy Suites enjoying free cocktails and spotting sex offenders.

We did Disney two years ago. Quickly decided that we weren't a Disney family. But, the best advice I can give is to pay for the fast pass. It was expensive, but if we hadn't paid for it, I seriously might have committed suicide or killed someone. Good luck!

My wife loves Disney….loves it. She goes about every year. I went with her once to California and last year to Florida with two of our kids.

Its not my thing BUT it isn’t as horrible as some things, it’s much better than going to six flags for instance. I did enjoy Epcot and did the food tasting that was representative of different countries. As mentioned previously the technology aspect is cool.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

When there, be on the look out for Goofy. The two of you should get along just fine.
