Sunview Cafe in Anna (they have other locations as well) has a very good CFS both on the breakfast and lunch menus.

No pics….but the CFS and eggs at R&K in Weatherford is pretty dang good. And a mean ham and eggs too.

The best one I ever had was in the Buckhorn Saloon and steakhouse in D'Hanis. I just looked it up and was sad to find out it is permanently closed.

El Paraiso's chicken fried steaks in Zapata, TX have been featured on multiple Texas eats shows. All of the food at El Paraiso is very good but especially their chicken fried steak.

It’s been 20 years since I’ve been there, but recall it was large and good. And the Corona beer is ice cold.

I second the motion on the Paraiso in Zapata. The J&P way down in Comstock, on Hwy 90, serves a dang good chicken fried steak too.

We ate there a couple weeks ago. I don’t know that I’d call the CFS great, but it was pretty good. Go north a bit to Bellmead and Heitmillers and try theirs. They are big and good. And while there order the stuffed Jalapeño (one per person, cause they are big).

The best chicken fried steak in Arlington is at the Southern Recipes grill.

Cabernet Grill Texas does a CF ribeye With a lobster sauce gravy. Expensive but succulent. Fredericksburg.

Local to me a small joint in Hillister, Texas called the Hitchin Post makes a quality CFS.

These are on opposite ends of the cost spectrum.

The wife and I went to Dunstons Steak House on Lovers Lane tonight.
My wifes boss gave her a gift card for there and we decided to use it and are very grateful for the gift

My CFS was thin with little flavor and the meat was soft but not tender soft like a pounded out ribeye, more like a frozen patty they buy in bulk, the gravy was also thin with so so flavor.
On to the good parts, the rolls were very good especially with the Apple Butter, squash casserole was good and my Butter Beans with ham were pretty tasty.
Again thankful for the gift card but would not spend my hard earned dollars there.

Hadn’t had a good one in awhile but never tried to make one at home. Turns out it wasn’t to hard and I’m mad at myself for waiting all these years
