I've been using one of the Burris thermals the past month and have now killed over 40 hogs with it so I've used it enough to post a review.
Positive:
Reasonable price, $2999. MSRP, so street price is around $2700.
Comes with a quality mount installed
Really clear, I think it compares to my Thermion XQ50 and better than a XQ38 I had
Digital zoom doesn't degrade image as much as Pulsar, 2x zoom to 6.6X is completely useable
Extremely simple to zero and operate
Runs on inexpensive (under $12. from Amazon) and commonly available 18650 rechargeable battery
3-5 hour run time depending on the mAh of the battery used
Lightweight, only 26oz
Small
Positive power on/off
Actually has a printed manual that tells you how to operate it!!!
Readily available
Negative:
Starts up slow, 30+sec (a Pulsar Thermion is only 5-6 seconds)
No internal video recording, but compatible with external recording
So far after bouncing around in a Kawasaki mule for over a month and several 100 shots it has held zero 100% and been totally reliable.
