I got the fluid changed in the 07 Tundra at 120k miles. It’s a Tundra. I never check fluid levels. Might have checked the oil once. Didn’t know there was no tranny dipstick. Never looked.

The 5 Series BMW I had, and I forget what year I bought it, was supposed to have a lifetime tranny fluid. Then I found out the the tranny was made by GM. I then decided, at about 100,000 miles, to have it changed anyway. Took it to the dealer and they said it didn’t need to be changed. I asked them to do it anyway, and they did. Somewhere around 150,000 miles I took it in for some service (I forget what), and the service guy, after seeing the mileage, asked me if I’d ever had the tranny replaced. I told him I had not, and why did he ask. He said they usually went out around 140,000 miles. I told him I had had the fluid changed out at 100,000 miles and he said that was why my tranny was still fine. What does that tell you? I sold the car somewhere around 200,000 miles, and never had any tranny issues.

I’m in the drop pan drain and fill very 100k using quality fluid group. Most vehicles I’ve owned and my family go past 200k miles we have never replaced or had a transmission worked on and serviced them all.

125k on my current one, ram 1500 8 speed zf. Ram says it is lifetime fluid zf, the manufacturer says to service every 75,000 miles. Have talked quite a bit with a man who uses the same trans commercially to deliver travel trailers that went over 750,000 miles on the stock trans and it only had a stuck valve, changed fluid every 100k.
