Headed to Dalhart for our annual Prairie Dog hunt on Tuesday. Long azz drive for a very few dogs. The pups haven't been growing enough yet, so we were a little early to catch the young, dumb ones. There were a ton of them, but they are VERY educated to hunters. Like in past years as soon as we pulled into the pasture after seeing them everywhere, they popped up 400+ yards away and with a very stiff wind, made hitting them very difficult. You would hold over shoot, see the bullet impact and if he stayed up long enough on about the 3rd or 4th shot, you'd get close enough to kill it or scare it into a hole.

I think I had 3 confirmed kills for about 50 shots.

Looks like a fun trip to make.

I've got a shoot towards the end of May, hope I have better luck.

I’d like to know your thoughts on the Bog tripod . Been considering getting one , new place I’m hunting only has pop ups for now so I need something to rest on
