Thanks for the reply. They just showed up at local gun store figured I’d give them a try. Interested if anybody thinks these might work. It looks like a can (barely) load to mag length without being too deep. I like the idea of a 115gr option. Looks to me like they will work, I didn't know Sierra made a 115gr.. They aren't listed on their web site? Where did you buy them? Interested if anybody thinks these might work. It looks like a can (barely) load to mag length without being too deep. If you got 'em I'd probably stuff them and let them fly. But from that layout with the bullet next to the seated dummy round (at max mag length???) I don't think I'd expect it to be an optimal choice, especially loading with CFEBLK. I don't think you'd be able to get enough powder in the case to get velocity up to be a 110CC or 110Vmax competitor.

I got a 500ct box of the new Sierra #2116 115gr HP in, worked up a load and shot a few groups. It looks like it's a winner for target shooting and varmint hunting. We'll have to see how it does on deer/hog size game??? I shot groups with 2407, 2448 and 2532 fps velocity. The 2407fps and 2532fps both shot very well and the 2448fps decent. Groups shown below were the 2532fps load. Sierra #2116 115gr HP-V, 2.250" OAL with a light taper crimp 27gr CFEBLK, lot #8 CCI450 New Sig mfg case

Who's using the WC 11.3" barrel? I'm currently using the 16" ranger, but thinking about building one with the 11.3" that will be suppressed. Main reason would be maneuverability. Just curious on thoughts of those using the 11.3" barrel.

Just curious on thoughts of those using the 11.3" barrel. My shoots just as accurately as my 16" gun and is very easy to move around. Probably my favorite length overall - can suppress it and still not be too long.

My answer would be yes for deer and I don't know about elk.

I really appreciate the commitment and direct interaction that Mr. Wilson has demonstrated throughout the development/introduction of this cartridge, especially making available a full suite of products (firearm components, ammunition, and reloading supplies). All of which are being offered at very reasonable prices, including a good supply of brass cases by Sig and Starline. Much like 300BO there is a certain appeal for the 300HAMR because of the shooter's ability to form their own cases... self-sufficiency, tinkering, or simple pride. I suspect that in time a number of current 300BO owners will either transition over or simply add an additional rifle to their collection in 300HAMR. I know that this is already happening amongst my friends as they have heard about my new rifle.
I am a reloader and enjoy the entire process of developing and tailoring loads to match a specific rifle or meet a specific purpose. I did everything by hand, one case at a time, forming 300BO brass. This time around I am using tools that can handle the volume with less strain on my hands and patience. At the moment there isn't a 300HAMR Trim Die offered by anyone. The only option available if using a Dillon Trimmer is to use a 300BO Trim Die that is set long (not fully screwed into toolhead).
I reached out to Wayne at the Mighty Armory to see if I could get him interested in making a 300HAMR Trim Die. We've had some correspondence back and forth with him showing interest. The demand for this product already exists, and it will only continue to grow support for the cartridge. It would sure help if Mr. Wilson could make a call over to Mighty Armory and place a word of encouragement.
Thanks

hkbigboy, No doubt about this being a perfect round to hunt deer. The one bear I've shot with it just dropped in it's tracks. Now, if we had Elk around here I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
The 300 HAM'R has totally corrupted my hunt club. Between the four of us there are now 10 rifles chambered in the HAM'R and I'm just waiting for an excuse to build another.

Bolt actions in 300 HAM'R. Any rumors on anybody coming out with one? Anybody built one on a Rem 700 action? Thinking of getting my Remington .223 mod 700 sent to ER Shaw and have them put on a HAM'R barrel. In my mind this sounds like a good idea and would work. Pro's what are your opinions. Would this work OK without other modification to rifle? Thanks for your time, Joe

Just curious on thoughts of those using the 11.3" barrel. First, I agree with @SDTurner Also, I recommend adjustable gas block and optionally lightweight BCG/buffer/spring. 11" is more violent than 16" and feels more like AR10 but with adjustable/lightweight components I was able to tune it almost to the level of 300blk. Considering 11" ballistics is close to 16" AK47 or 18" 300blk and is extremely maneuverable, I consider it a do-it-all gun with 200m point blank range (if you zero it at 36y). FYI, here are some projectile/velocity pairs: Accura 120SP - 2285fps Speer 125TNT - 2290fps Hornady 135FTX - 2230fps

Wilson Combat is already manufacturing Ruger American Ranch conversion kits, if you can find a reasonably priced donor rifle in 350 legend, 223 Remington, or 300 AAC, a fair number of members on this thread have had great results with converting to 300 Ham'R

me too for some reason i want one with a 24” barrel. i got a 5.56 WC protector originally. Bought a complete 300 ham’r upper 18” and the 5.56 upper hasn’t been out since. it’s a great round hunting drops pigs no issue, and inexpensive enough to shoot at the range for hours and not wear out the shoulder. now i want to hunt some bigger game.

Since I don't have any hogs around here, I have to sit and dream of the deer season to come. My only use for a 5.56 is trying to rid the area of coyotes. I don't want to waste my good ammo on a dog. But, when I go to the range I'll always have one or two 300 HAM'Rs with me. I do have a 1-12 20" HAM'R barrel sitting in the corner and I should do something with it, but the 16" and 18" rifles just work too well. For the cost, the Ruger/Wilson just make good sense if you want a bolt action. OK, I have not finished my morning coffee and I'm rambling.

No different than any other rebarrel...need the barrel you want, reamer and go gauge and someone with the expertise to do it. Nice video DJ...looks like your pigs have come back

by my calculations it would be at least 90FPS, which means 110 gr CC would be hitting almost 2700 fps with factory ammo and if weren’t in an AR and hand loading probably get that number to 2800 fps.
