If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.
Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

Nice, you have every right to be proud of killing that beast.
Tell us about the shot, placement, range, etc. The SST bullet has been known by many to be a great killer, myself included. Bill Wilson recently referred to it as the "deadliest bullet". He was referring to .308 in 165 gr which has been my go to bullet for a long time. My hunting partner uses it in 6.5 Creedmoor.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

on the run at about 75 yards... first round dropped him, got back up and a second round anchored him.. I was shooting offhand (the tripod is my buddies and just used for the pic) so shot placement wasn't ideal.
In my experience the 120SST with proper shot placement is extremely effective. I have been using 6.8s for almost 15 years and did a ton of load development and Bill Wilson and I both did testing with Barnes for the 95g TTSX, they sent me like 500 rounds pre pre production to test and give feedback on. Awesome round, especially when ran hot... When Hornady came out with the 120 SST factory load I did some initial testing and it worked great.. I have a relationship with them and get enough to hunt with in several calibers and I don't have to reload which I just don't have the time for anymore.
When we got to the pig it was still alive and not happy.. another round point blank and it was done.

Dang!! They say SST's won't kill!! Good cutters on that one too!!
How you liking the Burris Thermal? Don't hear much about them.
Beretta and Benelli are like a divorce...they are expensive because they are worth it.

Battery runtime is good as well Charles good job on the big boar. I just got a BTS50 and have hunted with it the past 3 nights. So far overall I think it's a very good scope for the money. It has a few features that I like better than my Trail and Thermion. Just being lightweight, small and running on common batteries makes it a winner.

yeah, it is a surprisingly good optic.. I like the lower power for close rang stuff and a large field of view
