I found a set of lightly used (1000 miles) duratracs in my size for 1/2 or less than a new set ($500). Any reviews from folks that have run them ?
My Nittos will be history in about 5-6 K miles.

I used to run the on my F350s, but went to Toyos. Got too many flats where tread meets the sidewall, so tire had to be replaced, unrepairable.

I ran a set of 285/75-17 E DuraTrac on my 2500 Cummins out to about 50k miles where they still had enough tread to pass inspection, I put new ones on 295/75-17 E DuraTrac and sold the old 285's to a guy making an off road buggy for $200. The first set drove good, minimal noise end toward the end, never had a flat ... when I moved up to the 295's, my truck seems to road walk/wander a lot more, to the point I took to my mechanic to have the front end alignment re-checked but he told me it had to be the much taller sidewalls causing the issue. I will drop back to 285's on my next set.

These have much better traction and cleaning in the terrain I need to go. I ran a set of Toyo RTs and got stuck with the first spin/slip in the black mud around my house. I liked the Toyo RT otherwise until hitting a pot hole and causing a tread separation on both right tires at about 20k miles.

Nitto only got about 25-27k miles before not passing inspection on the same truck, and really noisy the lower the tread got.

all the above were run with proper inflation and rotated properly.

Thanks guys, My son has some on his Ram Rebel and likes them but as far as I know has never been in mud so I was looking for real world reviews. I know the duratracs are not a MT but I can pick and choose which way to go.

I had a set on a Tacoma. I only ran them for 25k before I sold the truck. After 25k they still looked fairly new. I don't recall running them in deep mud. They held up better then I thought they might on the rocky roads at the hunting lease. Weak sidewalls are the only complaint I have seen. Tires are a compromise between off road and the highway. I never had a noise problem with them but have heard the get noisier as they wear. Duratracs have probably the most open tread you can get on an AT.

We run them, probably the most popular tire up here due to snow traction, 2011 F250.
They make 2 models, so to speak. The Ford OEM ones are not the snow designated ones we've been told by the tire store. That may affect your mileage on them, I would bet the snow designation is a softer compound and would wear faster.
We don't get great mileage on a set up here with the softer tire but they sure are the best traction we've found in our snow. They are not quiet but work well in our rocky terrain and roads too, have not had a sidewall blowout at all in many years since going to them. We run the 10 ply.

I ran a set on a F250 several years ago. I had no complaints. Got 40k out of them with plenty of life left

I had a set on my F-250 tremor

I was actually surprised, they were a better tire than I expected. Performance was good in both wet weather and off road. I traded them off after 35k miles for a set of Yokohama AT’s but I would buy them again.
