I remember my dad telling me, who worked at LANL weapons division, about being on a project shooting depleted uranium rods at hyper velocities through a smooth-bore gun. I don't know (or maybe don't remember) the caliber, but I don't think it was large, as in less than 50 caliber. They were using 45 basic cases getting 7K/sec. No idea what the propellant was, but I'm sure it wasn't Unique LOL. I wish he was still around to ask.
ZenArchery, you are nearly getting that with a standard rifle! Absolutely incredible and it looks cool as hell.

Is that a cordless drill battery pack at the bottom of the pistol grip?  BTW: It looks like 5,000 fps just parked!

Is that a cordless drill battery pack at the bottom of the pistol grip? BTW: It looks like 5,000 fps just parked! He'd get more Feet Per Second if it were a nice Milwaukee Red
