Growing up camo was laughed at down south. It was only used a bit during dove season or for rattling. Now a days people wear it as a fashion statement. I saw a dad last night at the movies decked out in camo including the hat and cell phone holder.

I think he charges $1 a copy. Looks like your clients might be making some entries into the contest? Just let me know when you need a cull taken and me and Romeo will come down and grill some fajitas or make a guisado.

Great deer.
My friend that lives in Brady says the way you can tell a local from a foreigner (Dallas, Austin, Houston) is that the foreigner will be wearing camo.

Feeling nostalgic today. Tomorrow ends doe season at our place and this is the first year since I could walk that my dad doesn't get out at least to bbq and shoot a doe. He grew up on the family ranch and guided hunts in Mexico so he has seen and shot his fair share of true B&C deer. This was his best and some day I hope to hang it on my wall. When I was younger I always wanted to hunt alone, but now any chance to get him out is a good day. It also makes me sad to see all these pen raised deer over 200 when shooting one like my dad's old one was an actual trophy. He taught me a lot and I ope he has a few more trips so everyone gets to enjoy the old border stories.

Anyone read the original Big Rack book? I spent many hours many years ago pouring over that awesome book. It had deer like this one in it with a story on each that described the hunt and hunter. Way before HF and feed. If anyone gets a chance get a copy - you will enjoy it

A magnificent buck taken in the good old-fashioned way! And really, more of a typical with some trash, in my mind, at least.
