Hello, I am looking to get a new over under for sporting clays and trap shooting. I currently shoot a Beretta A400 xcel and a Remington 105 CTI II (biggest pain in my [censored] gun). I have shot a 828 u (not sport) at the past 2 sporting clay events i went to. I really liked the feel of the gun but i want the 30" barrel and balance design the Sport comes with. My question is does anyone shoot or own either one of these and can give me your honest feedback?

I’ve shot the 828 a few rounds. Nice gun with a good fit for me.
But have heard nothing but problems about the. I actually witnessed the trigger group falling out of the gun during a round of sporting. It was one of the early models, so hopefully Benelli has that fixed by now.
Real shame cause that gun fit me beautifully.
Wife has always wanted some Hard 8

If this might not be your "forever" gun I would probably go with the Beretta. However, if the Benelli fits better...

Have a Beretta 694 with 32" barrel - great gun, no issues at all so far but still new (approx 1,500 shells through it).

Sporting Clays and Trap are two entirely different games… if you want to shot both (competively) with the same gun you will want an adjustable rib.
Do not trifle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

The Beretta 694 w/32" barrels is a bad boy. Definitely worth the money.
