It’s an old medicine cabinet with tabs on the inside. I can’t find parts that go in the tabs to set a shelf on. Or I don’t know what to Google for.

Home Depot. Just go poke around in their hardware cabinets, bound to find something that'll work.

We thought about carrying this sucker in there with us.

I googled "medicine cabinet shelf clips" had 12 plus pages of clips.

So have I. Not seeing any that will work on that shelf. Did you?

Think outside the box. Get a package of right angle brackets that will fit in the side. They already have two holes on each leg of the bracket. Cut a shelf to fit and set it on them. If you want you can add screws from bottom

Are you making the shelf out of wood or sheet metal? If sheet metal, just get a piec of hobby metal there at HD, Cut the shelf out and leave an extra 1/2" all around and bend tans down. Cut a little tab with tin snips to fit the notch.

Home Depot sells aluminum angle stock. Expect the original bracket was wide. Cut the length to the width of the inside of cabinet. Hit the edges with fine sandpaper. Attach with screws.

If you need shelves.

Get prefished wood shelving, and cut to fit. You also could look free standing shelving department. You might get lucky and find some plastic or metal shelving to cut down for shelves.

If you want glass shelves there are all sorts of inexpensive little glass shelf supports or brackets on Amazon searching that three word phrase. You would have to drill a pilot hole and use a sheet metal screw with each one, so they would not be adjustable. Some would work for thin wood shelves too.

What about a full size insert with shelves already on it. Just slide the whole unit in.

You could use Lazyjack's angle aluminum idea and make a few of these. I would be concerned about it tipping. That could be fixed with some double sticky tape on the back side

Mine is 1950s-60s and has slots exactly like yours. The metal is super thin to fit those slots. It is designed to cradle the glass shelves.
