I don't really want to, but I'm letting 4 of my 6 corn feeders run out. My theory is it'll drive some of my plague of pigs to the corral traps I have feeders in this spring/summer. I think there may be too many choices on the smorgasbord. Who knows if it'll improve my kill numbers, but you gotta keep adapting and trying different things with these bastards. rifle

I keep 3 free-choice protein feeders going for the deer, high up enough that pigs can't get it...unless a big boar learns "the bump". banana2

I spread minerals around my corn feeders and bump them twice a day for 2 seconds at sun up and sun down. Doing this also attracts deer to the protein feeders we start running from January thru August.

How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

My feeders are set the same year round. The free choice feeder is filled year round. Neighbors wonder where the deer are.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I agree with hook & Line
I pick up older and more deer during the off season due to feeding all year. I realize with prices going up I may not be able to keep feeding. I have bucks around me my neighboring hunters never see. The deer see me twice a week all year ...they are used to seeing me which I think this is important. This is bases for me seeing more deer. The hunters on my lease that only put out feed three or four weeks before season don't see what I see. I send them pics of bucks at my blind to encourage them. Some don't even harvest a buck at all. However ...I only harvest a buck every three or four years but I see mature bucks most hunters would harvest in a heart beat. They say I just watch and not hunt..lol
The serious hunters on my lease usually copy me..lol
