I checked it out, my ceiling is 13’ but it’s flat. The peak of the shop is way higher. Funny I never noticed it until today. Means I have some air space between my ceiling and roof line. I wonder what’s up there.

Got the conduit trenched in for the power, but there is no #4 or #3 THWN to be had. Home Depot and Lowes say none within 100 miles. Called a couple of electrical supply houses on Friday. One said maybe next week. The other had three spools...for more than double what it should cost. Ended up ordering from Home Depot and they claim it will be here by next weekend. Wife has opened the overhead door twice and has declared there needs to be an opener installed.

Finally found all the wire. 75 Amp feeder from the main panel is installed. I can finally run my cracker-box welder and fix a couple of thinks on my tractor and gate.

Put up the first three sheets OSB on the interior walls Saturday...just enough to get to the point where the mini split indoor unit would be installed. Got the AC installed in about 90 minutes (not counting the hour I let it sit after pulling a vacuum on the lines). Super easy. It took a couple of hour to get the humidity down and drop the temp for 94 down to 76. It's amazing now much water was removed.

All the interior OSB is up. The wife decided the walls needed to be painted. I tried to talk her out of it, but womenz will be womenz Now she has kilz up on about 1/10th of the wall area, in totally random places, and she figured out it is more work than she thought. She has not painted any more since Friday. I was good with bare OSB, but the blinding white splotches and random panels look like crap, so I guess I'll have to finish priming it and spray some gray on the walls. I was hoping to move stuff out of the garage this weekend, but it looks like I'll be paining instead

What did the insulation run per square foot? 2" closed cell on the roof and walls was $3.25\sq ft of area. That included them masking and cleanup...and I was impressed at how clean they left the job. Every place I have checked is closer to 2 1/2" than it is 2".

Very nice build and congrats on the shop. Its looking great!! The future home of many projects Thanks Its been 27 years since I have have had a real workshop. A series of 6 homes on postage sized lots and 2 apartments over those years, reloading in the corner of my office or on a portable bench in the spare bedroom, and stacking black\yellow totes to the ceiling with tools in a tiny corner of the garage. We should have built it immediately when we closed back in April of last year. I was totaling stuff up last weekend and the cost has exceeded 20% more, with no scope creep. The plan is to start moving tools and shelving on Monday

Rolled on coat of Kilz and sprayed on one coat of the hardware store Rustoleum interior pre-tinted gray. I had to admit to my wife that it did look better than the bare OSB. I was surprised one coat of paint covered that well. The texture of the OSB looks pretty good. Next up is building a long workbench on the wall to the left of the personnel door and then shelving. The heavy steel shelving is stupid expenses...trying to talk myself into buying that, as opposed to building shelves. Only about half the lights are up. Once the work bench and shelving is up, we can get that finished.

What thickness of OSB did you use? I'm re-doing my shop walls similarly. Checking prices & even the price of OSB has really gone up!

Very SWEEEEEEEET Stonebriar !
The painted foam looks nice, I guess I will have to do that at some point. The white looks nice and its bright in there, but I have seen a couple of shops with white walls...age and normal usage was not kind to them
Do you mind sharing what the floor cost?

What thickness of OSB did you use? I'm re-doing my shop walls similarly. Checking prices & even the price of OSB has really gone up! It's 23/32" T&G. It was $51.87 delivered. Yes it was expensive, but here is how I landed on that. 3/4" let me go with no studs or strips behind the OSB. It is attached to the bottom angle and the two horizontal purling. 15 self tapping screws per sheet, and the T&G joints have construction adhesive. When I ran the prices for materials, I would have spent around $350 in materials just to put studs on 16" centers...plus a lot of work, This made the 3/4" decision pretty easy. When I looked at several shops built without studs, The vertical joints between sheets on both osb and plywood bowed and in some cases, left pretty big gaps between sheets. The one shop that still looked good after 10 years had T&G I also ran a big bead of silicon along the concreate and bottom angle seam. I let that dry before putting up the OSB. This seals that bottom plate so bugs cannot crawl under it and it makes the bottom edge of the OSB sit about 3/16" off the concrete. That will hopefully keep any water or other liquids on the floor from wicking up the OSB I also wanted to be able to hang stuff anywhere I please.

You could’ve easily done 24 or 48 inch centers, but the way you did it works for its intended purpose. Looking good

Interior is almost complete. About 85% of the stuff from the garage and attic has been moved. Still a few lights to hang and then neaten up the wiring. The wall just to the right of the door will get a built-in-place workbench that 16' long, with some storage under it. Nothing fancy. I have a big vice that will go the left hand side, near the door. The small light colored wood bench in the corner is my reloading bench. I still need to get the press mounted, the metal pegboard put up on the wall behind it, and a metal storage cabinet moved in for the preloading supplies. Both doors and the window sensors are installed for the alarm. I have a PIR motion sensor I have not mounted yet. It's all tied into the house alarm panel. Turns out I get great wifi speeds with the little extender that is mounted in the window. No garage door opener yet...probably not putting one in I still have a bunch of 18" wide shelves to install around the parameter, at the top of the 8' OSB board. That space will be for infrequently infrequently used stuff (wife's Halloween and Christmas decorations and the zombie apocalypses preps ) Seems like there is a nice space for a cheap 50" TV just to the right of where I reloading bench is....

The shop looks great! From experience I can say your reloading scales are not going to like being that close to the AC. You can use a cardboard box to figure out what kind of wind break you need then fabricate one out of plexiglass for permanent use.

I'm revamping my shop similar. Mini-split being installed this week. Still considering floor finishes - DIY paint, epoxy or nothing.
I noticed in the shop pictures no base boards. I'm at a point that I need to consider with or without. Seam like nothing fancy just a 1x4 sealed tight to the slab for bug & water protection.
GREAT jobs BTW!

The seal is behind the OSB
Double bead of silicon between the slab and the steel angle at the bottom. A big bead of silicone on the contrete that was allowed to partially harden before placing the osb That keeps the OSB about 1/8” off the concrete, to prevent any water from wicking. There is also another bead between the OSB and the steel
I use a progressive, so I rarely weigh every round. My scale sits almost against the wall, behind the press. I have not noticed any air movement that close to the wall,..so far
