Heading out. Is 207 a "scenic drive" to caprock canyon? How much time should I set aside to drive through caprock, stopping here and there to take a photo? Palo Duro, is it more scenic? How much time to drive through? I may camp at Palo Duro, is there a "best" camp area? Thanks.

Wife and I camped at both places. She liked Caprock better because of the scenic cliffs. There’s a lake if you want to fish from the bank. The trailer camping spots were decent. I liked Palo Duro better, but I can’t say which camping area was better. If they are still putting on the musical ‘Texas’, you really want to see it.
Hiking is good at both parks, but take plenty of water and a compass and map.
Driving down the entrance to Palo Duro, which is very steep, you better have good brakes on the truck and the TT.
And, at Palo Duro there are a couple of places on the rim, outside of the actual park, that offer tours along the rim in jeeps.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

The most scenic drive in Texas is 207 south out on Claude at sunrise.

Thanks everyone, I'll plan to divide up my time about equal in both parks.
