Based in Texas, so probably not unionized.

I read that they couldn't keep drivers, so maybe they weren't paying rising market rates.

Figured this had lots to do with it. Same as Tandy, Montgomery Wards, KMart and many other corporations that didn't keep up with the times.

Even more so after seeing the news story about the delivery driver
that dumped all his packages in the ditch to keep from doing the work

I'm sorry for all of the folks losing their jobs.

In general, LTL is a difficult business to work with, though some do a very good job. Throw in customers who don't pay attention to details you give them on how to receive/document a shipment and it's a f'in hairball.

My FIL and several of his brothers all worked at the CFL hub in Irving for years. They were there from back in the early 70's and some on them stayed into the early 2000's. They were drivers and a couple in dispatch.
