I need to get some new breathable duckhunting lighters. Was checking them out on Rogers, and on Cabela’s. I’m not excited about spending $500 on these. Anybody have any recommendations in the $200-$300 range. I have been wearing my fishing breathable waders With lace up wading boots which is much more comfortable, but I finally tore of them.

I love my Frog Toggs. Really solid, 2 years no leaks and they have some nice features.

Stay away from Cabela's New Breathables. Biggest boot I've ever seen on a wader.

I also wasn't a fan of Drake's Eqwader Breathable. Material felt really cheap.

I have a pair of the Rogers Elite Insulated Breathable 2 in 1 on the way. Should be here this week and I can let you know my impression.

I agree on the Cabela’s boots being big. I’ve had several pair of their breathable‘s and I wasn’t overly impressed for the price.

If you want cheap, go to academy.

I like cabelas breathable waders with the exception of the undersized elastic straps, but they don’t stand behind their products anymore. But they are a good cheap option, don’t expect to get more than a season or two out of them if you hunt often.

I have been using some Simms and like them a lot. Have heard good things about Frog Toggs too.

Frogg Toggs are great breathables. Will last a season. That's as good as it gets for the price point.

Which Simms are you using? Bootfoot or Stocking?

Caddis Waders. Big in the fly fishing world. We have been wearing their camo breathable's for 10 or so years. The pair I just wore teal hunting is going into it's 5th or 6th season. And yes we wear them all season long, just layer up if it gets to cold.

Had one boot sole problem out of the 8-10 pairs my friends and family are wearing and they replaced them know problem. Should fit your budget also.

Orvis Clearwaters will run you about $200 and they stand behind what they sell. Can still wear your lace up boots.

Only issue may be that they seem to be gray in color now. If you're standing in timber or something they may not work.

I am using Simms G3 stockingfoot waders with some orvis boots. Got them both on off season sale for under $400 total.

I have been wearing simms g3 for close to 10 years with no issues. I wear them alot, flyfishing to duck hunting. They have held up beyond expectations. They are stocking foot and I run a nice pair of simms boots with them. You won't be able to stay in your budget, but know they are extremely comfortable and well built. When I wear my current pair out I plan on getting a new pair.

I'm simms fan but I picked up a back up pair of frogg toggs Men's Pilot River Guide HD Stockingfoot Wade. Been pleased. Only complaint is I wish they would of used the brush guard material that's on the Legs on the seat as well, but that's more of longevity thought not performance

I like my Frogg Togo’s, worked great last year.
I’ve seen a lot wearing Banded. The first gen Banded didn’t do to good. My understanding is they changed up the seams and stitching and the gen 2’s are pretty good.

Really happy with the fit and feel. Boots are great. So far I'm happy.

Glad to know. Just ordered a pair and have accepted I'm now in the Huskey Division weight class. About passed out trying to get in my neoprene non-husky waders Wednesday.

I’m two hunts in on my Rogers 2 in 1 breathable. So far so good.

Bought some frogg toggs from Simmons last month. Best deal I could find on any breathables, Rogers had some slightly cheaper but not in stock. Friend of mine has the rogers and they are no doubt made in the same Joint. wish I’d bought a size smaller boot size. Too soon to give real recommendations

After looking all around I finally got a pair of Avery Insulated Breathables. It was hard to find ANYTHING that might work. They seem well built. They may be a little too insulated for me. If I ever have to walk in a long way on a warm morning it'll end up in swamp arse. The other problem, which I'm going to live with, is the fit. I'm 6'4" 260# so I ordered a pair of 13 stout, which has worked well with other waders. Well, they aren't built for my body type. Apparently there are 5'8" guys out there with size 13 feet, average sized legs, and a giant gut that they had in mind.

Most of them suck except for sitkas. Heard a few high end waders hold up well also. Nothing like gortex. Back when Cabelas would swap them out, I would swap their breathables every year. Many times would spring a leak after a few uses. Terrible product.

If anyone who hunts 20+ times a season has found breathables for under 1000 bucks, would mind buying another extra pair. Have several pairs of Neoprene which I don’t mind in extreme cold, but hard to take off these Sitkas

Gator Waders get a bad rap around here, but I’ve been very happy with them. Second full season with them (didn’t hunt much last season, but I bought them the season before that) and they’re still going strong. No issues and they’re the most comfortable waders I’ve worn. $400. If you’re just looking to buy an extra pair of waders and your price limit is $1,000, I’d give these a try.

I'll still put my simms G3's up against any wader out there. Have had them for close to 10 years and they have been used and abused. They are starting to get some small leaks and I will be buying a new pair next season. I've gone through several pair of quality wading boots while owning them. They are not the cheapest route, especially when you factor in a couple hundred more for a good boot. But they are as comfortable as they come.

But Simms aren't "duck hunting" waders. Completely agree and confirm my G3s are still going strong. I need some new boots though. After my first year or two I ditched the Academy Brand and went to Simms so I have no dealings with Frogg Toggs, Banded, etc but if you are looking to stay around $300 I would look at the Freestone option in the Simms line. Not Gortex like the G3, but still made and backed by Simms. Might be worth a shot looking at them.

@2Flyfish4 - The G3s are currently on sale at Simms for $440 which is $100+ off.

Freestones use Toray with I think is actually better then Gore but that’s neither here nor there, it’s found in high end brands like Kuiu, Spyder etc. good stuff.
