I hear ya D&B, I know what you are saying, I have been wanting to by a ranch and that might be slipping out of reach with price increase. I just hope real estate prices are increasing because of demand, geographically driven, and not purely because of inflation and the government printing more money. Inflation driven by our government printing more money is not good, but real estate investing is a great hedge against that. But real estate can also crash. Seen that a lot over my 60 years on this planet.

Big spike in house prices for the nation since Jan 2020, not just Texas. Amazing you would think there would be a crash with the pandemic.

Good friend of mine pulled 200 out of his home thinking he was going to pay cash for some property. He may be sitting in that for a while.

Inflation from government printing more money, you can hedge that with real estate investment. Is that what we want? Intuitively, financially, common sense says pay off your debt. But in this environment, it says go in debt, buy more real estate...Yeah, this can create a bubble, and just drive the wrong behavior, which should be pay off debt.

It's coming, these things take time, price tag is growing, they better hurry.

Samsung plans to build a $17 billion chip plant in Texas
Quote
Samsung is planning to build a $17 billion semiconductor factory in Taylor near Austin, Texas, over the next three years as part of an effort to increase its manufacturing capacity and alleviate the global chip shortage. The South Korean tech giant announced the 5 million square meter facility Tuesday, a day after The Wall Street Journal broke the news. The factory will aim to help boost production of advanced logic semiconductors, which are used in phones and computers.

Of course you wouldn't like someone using common sense in journalism.

The "journalist" doesn't have any common sense. Residence is a place. Residents are people. Geez.

We cannot have enough of this type of industry in Texas. TI should be dominant in this industry considering their history.

I’ll continue to stand alone and say I wish they’d all choose another location.

I don’t like the people it brings.
We are still talking about our grid issues and we are encouraging very large energy users into the state when we cannot support what we have.

I'm with you on this one. We have enough industry...just need to spend the tax revenue we have more wisely.

I recommend legislation that people moving to Texas from another state not be allowed to vote in state or local elections for 5 years.

The North has double last names. The South has double first names.

In a land where "you will own nothing and love it " , I see a more sinister reason for pushing everyone into certain areas like Texas. Heck they have been stating publicly for the last 30 years how they plan to consolidate the masses into a centralized local.

I really don like it, like it says i live outside Granger. It will ruin all these little towns ( Granger, Bartlett, Holland ) prices of land will go even crazier than is now. And this is mostly farm land, pasture land.

The tax incentives are insane. Williamson County gave up the farm. I was surprised to learn that Texas ranks 7th in giving tax breaks.

Probably how they talked about railroads back in the day. Nobody expected an industrial revolution.

Economic growth is good.
