Greetings All,.

I have a Garmin ETrex Legend. It is of course discontinued for years but I worry it will drift over time.
Anyone have a recommendation for something you use Guys.

Thanks.

I too am looking for a standalone GPS unit. I plan on going on week-plus hunts out west at some point, so I need more than my phone.

No, it won’t drift over time. The unit receives updated satellite ephemeral data on a regular basis which informs the receiver of the other satellite locations. In other words, it is self correcting.

I’d be more concerned about the availability of map updates over time which you would get from Garmin.

I hunt all over US with my phone and onx. Just save a few maps to your phone for no-coverage areas.

With that said if you want a stand alone unit. GPSMAP® 64- 66i series is great. The 66i has SOS and Satellite texting ability
