OK, rookie question. What chamber brush do you use for the 300 Ham'r, a 556 or a 762? 7.62. 0.300 inch diameter=7.62 millimeters I think the question here is chamber, not bore. I use a nylon .40 bore brush. Can you or someone else help me with the 95gr Controlled Chaos BC? It’s not listed on the Lehigh site and the BC isn’t listed on the product page on the Wilson components page. I’m trying to determine if I can roll to 95gr and make do at 2800fps and get a little better trajectory for coyotes. I have a cart full of stuff to put together a 22Nosler but if the 95gr can flatten the 110gr trajectories just a bit I may go that route for commonality. Thanks

for the record a standard 5.56 chamber brush works fine if you’re dragging a .30 bore snake through the bore.

Graf's. I got 16lb $387.51 shipped with GA tax. I didn't think about it, but it was 16 - 1lb and 2 - 8lb limits. That would've made it $23.69lb. That is unheard of for shipped powder these days! Other retailers are sure to have it soon with jacked up prices and miniscule limits.. I'm rather excited, now a reason to get some Lehighs

Hmmm…but I only got the 8 lbs as I will be able to get more before I use it all. Let someone else get it. Mine was $210.55 total to Louisiana.

I initially saw this buck around 7:30 when there was still lots of ground fog, I "thought" he was a good one, but couldn't be sure until the fog lifted. I watched him and 5 does from 175yds or so for at least 10 minutes before it cleared up enough for me to do a positive ID. Due to terrain he went in and out of sight during this time, but finally it cleared up enough and he gave me a shot just before he was going to step into the thicket. Shoulder hit with 300 HAM'R 110gr Controlled Chaos from 175yds, he ran 20yds into the thicket and was down. This makes 6 nice bucks I've taken this season.

That is a BEAUT.
Thank you for the response on the 95gr BC
They hadn’t responded to my email yet.
With the bc falling off that much I’m going to call in quick and see if your people can change my order to replace the 95gr with the 110gr CC that I am quite happy with already.
Thanks again

I just scored Speer 125 Gr TNTs from BattleHawk Armory for 15 cents apiece for the 500 count box and Natchez has CCI 450 Primers for $85 a brick. I can't believe not counting brass you can reload a 30 Cal bullet for less than 50 cents! Maybe there's hope for the US after all.

Their bullet selection and prices during this current ammo related shortage tell’s me that it’s to good to be true… so I googled them and it’s alot of negative reviews. I’m going to stay away. Otherwise I’d order about $3000 worth of projectiles for those prices they have listed. Everybody stays backordered selling the exact same bullets at prices more than msrp so how do they have that much stuff at a really discounted price?

Everybody stays backordered selling the exact same bullets at prices more than msrp so how do they have that much stuff at a really discounted price? This is my first order but I'm willing to risk a few bucks to check them out. I realize there are a lot of scam artists out there but I'm tired of being scalped by the reliable firms I've used in the past. They did send me a tracking number so I'll repost and let you know how it went. BTW I did receive 2 cases (5000 each) of primers from Natchez. One was small pistol and one was CCI 450. In chatting with them they told me they had received a pretty good supply but were dribbling them out a few at a time so they wouldn't overload FedEx. I had put in a notify me request and fortunately placed an order within minutes of receiving the email. They do limit you to 5 bricks so between shipping and hazmat you/re looking at a dime a piece which is better than 50 cents a piece at the last gun show I went to or 20 cents at the last website that actually had some in stock.

Battlehawk Armory is the Bees Knees! (I've stated this in a previous post on here) I've ordered $3k+ from them. Them and their prices are no joke. Fast shipping. Never an issue with a single order. $100/K on #450's is still way to high! How come my LGS can sell them for $50? He doesn't do nearly the volume these online retailers (damn near distributors) do..!?!? Gougers be gouging. Graf's and Midsouth are probably my New favorites. With this big Shooters World drop, powder valley feels like SW extruded powders demand varget and retumbo money!

I think a lot of the badmouthing going on is because of shipping issues...heck I've even seen PSA get flamed and they're one of my go to sources. The only place that seems to have it together is MidwayUSA...the last time I ordered from them a couple weeks ago it showed up on my doorstep 3 days later! They should give lessons although their prices on some stuff is a little steep...not quite scalper gouging but close.

Lehigh 95gr and 110gr CC ballistic charts from the Hornady calculator. At "practical" hunting ranges the 95gr shoots the flattest.

Bill, I need to stay off this forum. With some of this data I am once again revisiting my home defense round for my nightstand HAM'R, still being somewhat concerned about wall penetration. Any chance you've chrono'd either of the Lehigh rounds out of an 8-inch? I have a magneto speed but it doesn't work so well with the handguard over the suppressor. By the way, the Deadfoot shortened buffer system has worked flawlessly now with various HAM'R rounds. Thanks, Bryan

OK...here's the update I promised for Battlehawk Armory. I put in an order yesterday at 9:42am for a box of 500 Speer TNTs part #4725 and they were sitting on my porch today at 3:41pm. Total price including shipping $91.52 compared to Speers MSRP of $120.99. Full disclosure is I live in Austin and they appear to have been drop shipped from Bossier City. LA. My only complaint is they will only ship to your billing address and I'm not home right now so it would have been handier if they would have shipped to me. I'll probably do business with them again.

OK I just did the math. Cost per round including shipping and hazmat for primers, powder (assuming max charge), and Speer 125gr TNT works out to $0.423068. Primers from Natchez, Powder from Defender Ammunition Co, and bullets from Battlehawk Armory. That's only about 12 cents more than the 5.56 I was buying by the case before things got crazy! YMMV

And when hunting season is over and there are no pigs around it does a pretty good job on everything from potatoes (spud bustin' is one of my favorite sports) to watermelon!

Can I ask all you professional pig hunters (or dirt clod killers as the case may be) what night vision equipment do you use with the Ham'r?
