Any good? It may be a long time before I'm in the market for a scope, but a friend got the GLX, 4-16 x 50 FFP. I checked it out and read up on it. For $750.00 it seems like a great scope. The only characteristic I'm not sure about is light transmission. Anybody hunt with one of these, and can offer a field perspective on how well it performs the last five minutes of legal shooting light?

I have the GLX in 4-16 and 6-24. I can't comment on the last 5 minutes of light. I bought the 4-16 last year and used in only once hunting. It was on an Oryx mid morning. The scope is rock solid and the glass is good. I don't know how it compares to high end glass.

I was reading about the steel on steel components in the turrets, how the scope is shipped all the way down on elevation and how to set the zero stop and make adjustments. How did you like this, and how was the sight in process and getting everything ready to hunt?

It was easy, everything tracted fine. I really like the their GLX line. It has a lot of nice features for the money. Glass is good to my eyes. It's some of the better glass I own. The weight is really nice for the size and features of the scope. The GLX line is made in the Philippines.
I think you will be pleased for the money. Their reticles are really nice. I have the ACSS HUD on my 308 which I used for hunting. The 6-24 is a pure MIL based reticle called the Athena. That one is on a 223 bolt action.

Thanks, not for me. I'm good on scopes for a while, I hope. But I'm often asked if I've heard about, or know anything about, etc........If someone is looking for an optic in this price range I can tell them what I've heard from someone with some field experience.

Without Primary Arms optics experience, I would spend $750 on a Burris XTR II.

The weight savings is probably from less travel. I looked into a Primary Arms scope several months ago. None in stock and contacted them asking if they could notify me when they were. Crickets. The few stories I've heard about Burris Customer Service, they have been stellar.

I picked up that Burris XTR II 3-15 for $599. Total bargain. It's a tank.

I have one of their 4-14x44, tracks good, decent light transmission and for a price of $280, it would be hard to be beat at that price.
