Oh, that's the young guide! (But I do like how you think.) She's the only thing that kept me from breaking down and whining like a little girl on those "hill" sides. What type of prep shape work up did you do for the trip?

I'm an example of what not to do. I did some, but not enough. I could have enjoyed the hunt much more if I'd done lots more cardio. You're basically scrambling up a mossy, completely soaked mountain side the whole time. You're pulling up with your arms and shoulders as much as using your legs, grabbing on to little trees, roots, vines, etc. Do as I say, not as I did. Find a gym with one of those climbing, whole-body work out machines and get after it.

theringworm on here did the same hunt this last year, and he's a lot more dedicated to an actual exercise routine. Maybe he'll chime back in on this.
