Hello! I managed to read all 77 pages and what a great Learning experience it was. My main question was concerning ING the 110gr CC bullet for deer. Which of course didn't get answered for me until the last three pages. Lol Looking forward to sharing many adventures with this rifle I built here in Indiana. Link is to my 300hamr build. I have no idea how to post it directly without the link. Sorry

Sorry Welcome aboard Cweb Actually I've been shooting several deer with the 110gr CC over the past month, probably 15 so far and I've had real good success at putting them on the ground quickly. I shot this 7.5yr old cull buck this am and he only ran 15yds with a quartering shoulder shot with full penetration of the base. Posting photos from your computer is super easy on this forum, just click the icon at the top with the blue arrow called "upload inline image" and follow instructions.

Thanks! Hopefully that worked. Thanks so much to you and everyone taking the time to help and answer questions. Gun opens for us on Nov 13 so hopefully I'll be able to share some more hunting photos with the hamr' here!

Another one bites the dust. I spotted this buck from 400yds or so with decent cover and perfect wind between us so I was able to stalk up to within 120yds and shot him with a 95gr Lehigh CC. I shot kneeling from bi-pod shooting sticks and the hit square on the shoulder dropped him in his tracks without even a kick.

Bill,
You must get in a lot of practice processing deer. :-) Fortunately we have a list of people wanting the meat, so we normally just have to gut them and put them in our walk-in cooler. We got 45 buck and 120 doe tags this season and we have to shoot 65% of the does to meet the minimum requirement for the management program. It kinda turns into a job....so I'll keep HAMRin away.

I’ve started my application process to get adopted by DJ This is the video interview I submitted https://youtu.be/RM7IM3jfXJc🤣 On a more serious note this depicts one of my favorite attributes of the 110gr Controlled Chaos bullets that I was really hesitant to warm up to at first . I’d never have considered taking that opening shot with a 130hhc or any bonded bullet. I have even caught the 110gr Amax from a HAMR exiting hogs on video and carrying enough energy to disappear into the background while airborne and traveling in a relatively straight line so I wouldn’t have taken it with that load either. The 110gr CC (& I’d assume the 95gr) performance is somewhat similar to a frangible. I’ve got quite a few impact videos showing the bases and petals exit hogs and coyotes and not travel 10yds. Somewhat contrary to Lehigh marketing they also tend to sheer the nose and perform similarly on non animal impacts with solid dirt, trees, rocks etc Hunting on working cattle ranches means minimizing the potential for ricochets and pass throughs damaging equipment or injuring livestock is very important to me. I’ve got a boatload of TNT and Vmax squirreled away for the real barren year coming but I’ll be saving those for the open crop field hunts after my adoption goes through. Until then (& as long as they are available) I’m going to keep stuffing CC bullets for these hunts.

Babushka for some reason cannot be seen in mirrors or appear on camera. I can’t even get much of a thermal image other than her silhouette seems to block heat from the background. Kinda freaky. All I can offer is a secondary application video using your preferred HAM’R pill, the TNT. The 2 that casually walked into the tree line were recovered 10’ from one another about 15 yards in. Caught some cool drone footage the next day of a buzzard dragging a 60#+ pig carcass on one of them https://youtu.be/W3s8UDW0c-UOn a side note I suck and cannot figure out how to add sweet music over my vids or even how to make the YouTube tile for my video link show up like yours. I’ll need some mentoring. Or, once the adoption goes through I’ll just get our hunt video to you and you can add it to your vids. Bazinga! Problem solved, problem staying solved.

IMO, once those softer bullets deform a bit you can get some wicked JFK type turns from them. And judging from the near side chest entry holes they give there’s plenty of deformation and keyhole type wounds going on in a real short travel distance.
Nice recovery

I was doing some loading tonight and realized it’s getting to be deer season for everyone. I’ve got plenty of stuff to get me through for a good bit so I figured I’d offer a couple boxes of 135gr FTX up in case someone is in need and willing to pay shipping on top of the last price I found them in stock for. them at. I know it’s not pre woo-flu prices but It’s also not GB priced. Unfortunately it’s Just replacement cost for whenever they stop cranking out every .223 and pistol bullet they can. If you’re interested drop me a pm, & good luck with your season.

Hello! Me again. Struggling to find a bullet that is keeping 1" at 100.
Has anyone used the 135gr sierra HP successfully on deer and hogs?
I may try the 95gr cc instead of 110 as well.
I have a match 2.5lb trigger and quality optics mounted as well

I have a match 2.5lb trigger and quality optics mounted as well The Sierra 135 HP shoots good and kills game well at 2400fps MV The 95CC typically shoots better than the 110CC. The key to accuracy with the Lehigh CC is OAL, they don't like to start out close to the rifling. Try a OAL of 2.240"

Bill, first off thank you for all the great info, although I live in northern Az, I found this forum looking for Ham’R info and there is wealth of it here. I’ve copied your suggested load data that I’ve found and on the 135 HP I don’t see where you got a load at 2400fps. Best I see is 2281 with 1680 powder.
On second note, I’ve got five of you great firearms so far, I’m now looking for a medium to long range target, varmit long gun. So many choices on your site, I’m leaning towards a 556 but I’m all in on the lesser known calibers too, suggestions?

It shows the Sierra 135 Gr HP loaded to 2.230" COAL over CFE BLK with a starting charge of 24.2 Gr for a velocity of 2150 FPS and a max charge of 26.9 Gr for a velocity of 2400 FPS.
God bless.
