who likes to camp?

I've spent many nights in a tent but I'm not big into camping. I can't get behind the idea of just going out somewhere, sleeping in a tent and hiking around for the heck of it.

I don't mind sleeping outside but it has to be in conjunction with some other hunting/fishing activity.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Roughing at our age is Holiday Inn Express. We have tent camped in the past. Our longest trip was a month long trip to Canada through Banff National Park, then back down through the States down the Rocky mountains. Spent many nights out in the Davis Mountains tent camping. Same camping and fishing n the Colorado river and the Concho river in Runnels county.

I like to hunt/fish but I also don't mind hanging out with people around a campfire, hiking, sharing meals, and being outdoors.

3 miserable days in a tent during a blizzard up on the divide pretty much ended my camping days.

We are a camping family. My wife and I camped, eloped then honeymooned in the mountains. She was 5 months pregnant with both of our kids and tent camping in the mountains. Kids have always done it and loved it. For summertime in Texas we bought a small camper and enjoy it. Honestly a cot and a bed roll is more comfortable than the bed in the camper.

I grew up camping and would rather camp than stay in a hotel. I find people that don’t camp to be odd. People with kids that don’t camp……….. very odd. There is not a kid alive that would not have fun camping. Take em even if you’re used to the Hilton.

Spent many a summer at Camp Tonkawa south of Buffalo Gap in Boyscouts growing up there, tent camping in the summer. It was brutal. Camped all over Texas, Colorado and New Mexico in tents. We starting taking our ATVs to New Mexico and Colorado yearly and got tired of packing up camp every couple of days to move to a new riding area. Bought a 2005 35' Gas Motorhome in 2018 and it has been the best depreciating investment I've ever made. We boondock everywhere with it, rarely stay in a park or anywhere with hookups. It's fun to all ride together (10 at one time summer of 2019 New Mexico atv/Jeep trip). Flat towed my 2002 Wrangler behind the motorhome with two King Quad 750's on a 8' trailer hooked to the jeep. Total length came in at 64' and we had zero problems pulling that load and 10 people in the motorhome up the passes to Red River. I'll never go back to tent camping.

It has to be in conjunction with hunting. Too hot during non hunting times of the year.(In Texas)

I've camped out a little this year by myself, think roughly 13 days between archery elk and 2nd rifle mule deer in CO. I camp either in a tent, bed role or back of my truck.

My kids could probably talk me into camping during summer but that's about it.

Red River is one of my favorite places to go. No spot in particular, just that whole region.

Same. I'm happy to camp... as long as it is so I have access to a certain place / activity I would not otherwise easily have.

For the record staying in an RV or Motorhome is not camping. It may be a temporary camp but its staying indoors. I loved my RV and even extended stays were comfortable

I’m talking tent/bed of truck/ tarp over a rope camping

A memory that I’ll always cherish is camping and fishing at lake of the pines with my grandpa. He had to be near 70, tent camping in the summer. On a quiet summer night listening to frogs croak I’ll always think back.

Most grandparents these day’s wouldn’t do such a thing. Like it’s commonly said kids spell love T I M E

Did a lot of tent camping with my son and by myself, hunting or just getting outdoors.

Have an RV now, but it sits from late May till September, gets too hot at night to camp here in Texas.

Back in the early 70's before I had a boat as a co-angler I slept on a cot in the parks. Tied a rope to two trees and threw a tarp over it for dew or rain. Cooked on a wood firepit as I did not even have a Coleman stove at that time.

Tent camped a bunch when I was a kid. I’m over it now. Give me an RV with heat, AC, and a decent mattress.

Spent three days clearing brush in East Texas a couple of weeks ago, rented this camper. It was cheaper than a hotel room. ac, bathroom and a kitchen, although cooked over a fire.
