Heading to Deep Ellum now looking for something to eat. I keep hearing that pecan place for BBQ, any other suggestions? If you want a good pizza, my buddy is the owner of Cane Rosso and it’s pretty good stuff! He has several locations now, but deep Ellum was his first. We always get a chocolate desert pizza to go. Are you talking about the Quote/Repost of TurkeyHunters link that I opened and pasted about the recent shooting events? FYI I ain't scared to go down there during the day or taking my wife out there for dinner as we did 2 months ago at the Angry Dog for dinner. I also ain't scared to go down there at night for a few drinks. I am cautious and wise enough to not go down there and get chit faced and wander around there at 2 in the morning.

Guess you also missed the part where he survived a couple days in the hood, although I still question if it was actually Deep Ellum. It is a few block section of the 9th largest city in the US, that is congested with bars and clubs frequented by kids whose ego and tempers are fueled by alcohol, drugs, and testosterone. Of course there will be shootings, just like any other part of Dallas.

His wife was my wife’s boss for 18 years. He started out with a trailer he would pull behind a truck to different locations and make pizzas. Neat to watch his success.
