Yes, it would be just about right for Dove or Skeet.

These shotguns were made back in the early to mid 70's and in my opinion are very good looking shotguns. There are other Beretta shotgun models more popular...but the AL-2 is well respected. Many folks want something with a barrel that will accept screw in chokes. There are barrels from other models that will fit onto the Al-2 or the original barrel can be modified to accept thin tube chokes.

Also, the early Beretta's had somewhat a reputation for being finicky of Ammo. Some of the 'bargain' (Lower Powered) field/skeet loads often wouldn't cycle reliably through them, but that is remedied by drilling out the port slightly. Most well broken in AL's won't have a problem.

If the price were just a bit lower (OP is asking ALL the money for this model) and the drive not so far, I would be interested in it for sure. Make a good field gun for my Daughter. The wood is nice on this shotgun....but typical of the model. Certain replacement parts could be difficult (but not impossible) to find if needed later.

It's a nice shotgun and of underrated quality by most accounts. It's just not a exceptionally well known model and the price (except for someone just wanting one) is holding it back slightly. But you are right....for a Dove Shooter, it is already just about perfect. A good cleaning, lubing and correct shells....a guy/gal would be ready to go to the field with it.

Nice post - thanks for the info. I'd entertain reasonable offers on it. But I like the gun a lot...I'd keep it for my son to use when he's a bit older before I discounted it a ton.
