even though I say I hate them

Why in the world would you hate them?

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Sorry, HwyMan and others. I chose my words poorly in my disgust. I do not hate javelinas. They are a very interesting part of nature, although they do stink, but maybe they stunk because I seemed to always gut shoot them as they ran up a canyon in Pecos county in my early years.
My attitude comes from the decision by TWA(or TPWD) to include them as part of the Texas Slam. I just dont feel they should be thought of on the same level as a Texas Big Game Animal like the WT, MD and Pronghorn. Same thought process as changing the African Big Five to the big six and including the javelina or armadillo or a skunk, etc.

Javis are pretty cool animals. I have hunted places with tons of them, and shot big bucks on the same place.
So many want whitetail hunting to be super easy, and javis can through a wrench into the works.
They are certainly fun animals to watch.
