Lucas did not take long shots. Y’all see the Lucas episode where he missed the shot at a leaping lion? He kinda freaked thinking he couldnt miss. Checked out the gun and his eyes and when they checked out his confidence was gone. The Rifleman could no longer shoot a rifle. Well, it ended well, imagine that. No turrets involved in the episode. That episode was too dramatic for me.

I set zero at 25. Always have and at a 100 yards I am no more than an inch off POA. This is with .223 and .243. 30-30 would drop 3-4 inches at a hundred. Ballistics are a thing.

I have a d.o.p.e. card taped to my stock from my zero (100yds) out to 600yds, along with wind holds from 10 to 20mph at those yardage.
