Not sure how Buccees can charge $479 for the feeder if the posted price is $399.

Not sure how Buccees can charge $479 for the feeder if the posted price is $399. I was thinking the same thing. If they didn't honor the lower price, I would have walked (after I raised a fuss).

You can get the same feeder from an All Season's Dealer since they can order them and sell them. Most dealers do not know they make that EZ Feeder. It comes with timer, battery and solar also. They also make a 400# version of the EZ Feeder that you can order from Tractor Supply or directly from a dealer or AS. They ship it directly to the store once you order online. To make this feeder easier to ship it requires you to put part of it together. It does not include the solar panel or battery either. If you shop around you can find good prices on both and easy to install yourself. It was $379 but is ow $399 on TSC page.

Be sure to check the bolts for tightness if you buy a pre-assembled. I purchased one from TSC that was assembled, and several bolts still needed turning. The 400 EZ was full to the top after 7 bags. Works well initially. EZ timer. Motor set on medium speed and throws corn in a 40 ' diameter area. Wiring is enclosed, but there is a small opening about the size of a coon's arm that I enclosed with a small piece of flashing and 2 screws that I felt a coon could reach in and find the wiring. Also put a 1/2" rubber grommet over the wiring where it goes through the sheet metal. The legs on the feeder are not impressive, but mine is in a hog panel pen, so it should be okay. It might not stand up to hogs pushing on it. It is short enough to ez fill from the ground - less than 4' to the top.

Where is the control that varies the motor speed?

Where is the control that varies the motor speed? It is a function in the feed timing setup. High-Med-Low.

I checked with the guy that does all the feeder filling and maintenance on all our feeders, about the motor speed settings. Per him the Bucees feeders with the 3 settings will default to the higher settings and that is what most would run it on. The Timer and others that have just one speed setting are at comparable speed to the high speed on the Bucees.

One thing that wasnt obvious to us at first was for the same duration, the higher the speed, the more corn it uses. We started off on high because we liked the really wide dispersal of corn, but ended up backing it down to low. Especially once the deer got used to the timer going off. With corn prices going up this year might save some money. It was burning through the corn. The only improvement I would like to see are X-cross braces on all four sides instead of just two. Mainly because the hogs get underneath it from the open side. Easily fixed with a piece of angle metal screwed in, will be getting to that this season.

I needed a couple and was looking hard at the Bucc-ee's model, but decided instead to go with the Game Winner from Academy. 350 lb capacity, integrated solar panel, reliable and easy to set timer, heavy duty legs with 2 stake down loops on each side and a sight window for feed level. $449 They also make a 750 lb model for $499.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

My All Season 400lb version has almost 2 full years under it's belt. It's my pig feeder, not a single problem and the hogs and coons haven't been an issue. Thinking of getting a 600lb Buc-ees one soon. Spoke too soon. Timer was crapped out last weekend. Luckily I had another old feeder at camp so I took that timer and wired it in. Not too happy about having a timer go out after only 2 years.

Do you have any issues with the built in solar panel on the Game Winner No Hassle? In the advertisements the panel looks like it would get beat up by hogs.

True, but I have several barrel type feeders already in place that hold 350 lbs, so I have to go fill those anyway. On the question about the built in solar panel, the angle is adjustable with a set screw. I left the panel flush against the side of the feeder rather than having it stick out at an angle. Figured that would keep it safe.
