People like West get people killed. Plays on emotions of the mentally unstable. He's acting like this setting the stage to say the blood results were tampered with. He and his wife are the type that won't take any responsibility for anything. I have no respect for that.
By the way, if she comes back clean and wasn't DWI, it won't change my opinion one bit on the way he acted. Maybe she is innocent. But no one set her up, the cop didn't arrest her out of malice, etc. There was PC for the arrest. That's all the officer needed. Guilt or innocence isn't decided on the side of the road. No it’s not decided on the side of the road. If she is impaired west’s run at Governor of Texas will be over. If his wife is a straight shooter (which is what I have to compare to with my wife) then he is putting politics in front of his family if he sits back. What I see is west went all in believing in his wife. Time will tell…

The whole thing to me is he ran his mouth when he didn’t have to. He could’ve been courteous and said. Let’s wait till the facts come out....my wife and I respect the process...... A statement like that would’ve greatly helped his election possibly but no he took the immediate victim route. But no...I guess that’s too much to ask of a man that wants to be governor

Don’t F with a mans wife unless you want trouble. That will win west more votes than it loses. So LE can't arrest women who are married? The stop was good and there was sufficient probable cause for an arrest. No one was/is F'ing with her.

What is really funny is if he and her had kept their mouths shut, even if convicted, it may have been many months before anyone ever figured it out and it wouldn't even be news by then. He created his own storm.
Years ago we had an officer get a DWI in another state. He bonded out and went back there for court. He got probation, kept his mouth shut there and here, and it was not discovered for years until he had reached retirement age. He promptly retired with full benefits and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Some people are playing checkers, some people are playing chess.

Objective thoughts: 1.) She was not abused, brutalized, etc. 2.) She obviously couldn't stay in her lane. She could have been on the phone or something else though 3.) Who stops in the middle lane for being pulled over? Then, who makes a turn after being instructed to move and still stays on the road? 4.) She was nervous as all get out. Not sure why, but it was obvious 5.) She isn't exactly in shape, so I don't know what to think about the field tests or her ability to sustain breath 6.) That sure seems like a rookie cop IMO which didn't help the situation All I can say for certain is she is a piss-poor driver. Testing will prove out the other concerns. 1. Yes not abused....but the 'field sobriety test' was unnecessarily protracted. 2. Agree that distracted or inattentive driving (baby in back) could be an explanation. Neither are acceptable however. 3. My question too. Makes you think right away you have an impaired driver or medical emergency, just bizarre. 4. Nervous doesn't bother me or mean anything special, lots of folks would be nervous. Cops automatically think it means something because they are trained to look to for it as a 'sign' of something nefarious. 5. Yes, Middle aged (or later) clearly not in shape, many folks for various physical reasons could NOT complete the field test (for very good reasons). As for the handcuffing....the lady is portly....clearly has not been cuffed before. No doubt it was uncomfortable for her....especially when seated. LEO should have 'daisy chained' her. Poor handling of the person arrested. 6. If not a rookie, sure acts like one.

The stop was good and there was sufficient probable cause for an arrest. No one was/is F'ing with her. Nobody is saying that. What I am saying is a man standing up for his wife is going to be more impactful to the voting public than throwing the arresting officer under the bus. Law enforcement officers are under appreciated today. My point was nothing more or less than that. That and I’ve seen enough to know that things are not always what they seem. Even though most of the time they are, I will wait for the facts to come out before I draw my own conclusions.

Cops aren’t trained to think nervousness is a sign of anything. Good cops pick up on nervousness beyond that of an average person based off thousands and thousands of contacts with people. Everyone knows cops make people nervous. But If I pull you over for expired registration and tell you you’re getting a warning do you think your signs of nervousness are going to be the same as someone in the same position who also has an ounce of meth in their pocket or is say…..DWI? Of course not.
Also everyone needs to look up horizontal gaze nystagmus. It’s the best indicator of depressant intoxication. No one but the officers is going to be able to see It but if the clues are there it’s a done deal.

Gots to agree. Idk why the hell I do it, but every damn time I get pulled over I’m cool as a cucumber until he asks for my DL and I go to get it out of my wallet and that’s when I see my hands shaking like a mofo. Not sure why, I’m a law abiding citizen with no wrap sheet or warrants. But every single time I look like I have Parkinson’s.

I’ve been pulled over enough times to not be nervous. When you know you’re going to get a ticket or three, there’s nothing to be nervous about. If you haven’t been stopped that much, I get it.

Haha when I worked for Halliburton I got stopped all the time speeding to work. Oklahoma troopers were great, always a warning. But I wasn’t always lucky. Have 11 tickets on my record I was never nervous either. I was just like yep, you got me lol

When the company insurance dropped me, I had no choice but to clean up my driving act. I’ve probably had 11 tickets in a two year period. Now, I’ve whittled it down to one ticket in the past 6 years. And that one was kind of a cheap shot. I was doing 15 over, but it was on the access road and I was speeding up to merge on the interstate in the next couple miles.

I got stopped for doing 60 in a 60mph construction zone and was written a warning. He explained that the speed limit was the maximum speed in which I should be driving, it was up to me to determine the safe speed at which I should be driving, and being a construction zone, he recommended 45. That's kinesics and your example is called "guarding" a handgun. Yes, I've been trained in all forms of it. It's how certain body movements and gestures indicate nonverbal communication.
I guess is could be sort of a nervous tic based of having something illegal? Well I feel better now. I actually may of paid more attention then I remembered,
