Not defending her at all, but I have had a GPS send me to the wrong side of Tyler, Tx when we were trying to return a U-Haul trailer. Seemed no matter which place you picked, it sent you to the one on the west side of Tyler. I can't count the number of people that have had GPS's try to send them into an empty field or a lake.
As for her getting pulled over, the story keeps changing. First it was she didn't signal a lane change, then it was she couldn't drive in a single lane (video showed that), now they smelled alcohol in her vehicle. I am very much PRO Law Enforcement and will wait till the blood work comes back before I even think about making a decision on her guilt or innocence. I also agree her husband should have stayed out of it till he had all of the CORRECT facts.

Even the cocaine would have been out of her system in three days.

The reason for the stop was not using her turn signal, but it appears the failure to maintain her lane is what initially drew the officer's attention to her. There is case law that says failing to maintain your lane may or may not be a violation depending on whether or not there are other vehicles in your immediate area (the officer's car can't be counted). That makes the turn signal violation the most solid because you don't have to fight off suppression for the stop based on the circumstances of swerving. The smelling of alcohol was after the stop and was likely just additional information released later. The first release of information was just very basic information to get the basic facts out. I agree that the tox results should put this to bed one way or the other.

The fact there has been death threats to the officer and that was handled by the Chief and the fact he told west to [censored] a rock on this apology tour tells me what I need to know. He is done. DPD has a tighter ship for what that is worth.
