Always put them down myself. No kids around, obviously.

It was hard to pull the trigger a couple times, but was instant and needed to be done.

If I was suffering and dying I would want the same.

No sense in wasting money, the end result is the same and both means are humane.

Wasting money?

Yes, paying a vet to do it vs doing yourself.

To each their own.

We had to put our 13 year old lab down at the beginning of the year. The vet offered to come do it at the house so that the dog would be more comfortable and not get all worked up having to take a car ride. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do…

Vet. Over the years we’ve put down 2 dogs and 3 cats. It never gets any easier. For those of you with 100+ pound dogs, you need to make plans to do things sooner rather than later. Until it happens, you don’t realize how hard it is to carry a 100 pound dog to the car that’s in pain and can’t walk on their own.

Thanks,
Rich

Hope you never have to deal with your wife and horse. That’s a whole new ballgame.
