I'm on the other side of that coin. I have absolutely no reason to assume there was anything political about this and think it would be ignorant to assume such. In fact, I would bet when those officers figured out who she was they would have rather been anywhere in the world other than where they were.

Do you think all of the officers in a department just fall in line with the beliefs of their chief? I'll help you out - they absolutely do not when the chief is a guy like that. To assume these officers had any political motive for this arrest with no evidence is irresponsible and likely wrong.

West is a politician and no matter what he thinks his wife is or is not guilty of, it would be normal practice for a politician to immediately start the narrative in her defense, go on the attack, and repeat it often. His most adherent followers will grab onto it and ignore any opposing truth or deny it as a conspiracy. Many of those followers going forward will not even see most opposing facts that come out due to social media algorithms. The feed will be consumed by his claims of wrongdoing by the police.

It will be interesting to see any video of the arrest that comes out. She is not a stranger to claiming people are out to get her.

The guy making the stop surely didn't follow her around looking for the opportunity, I don't think anyone believes that. But the media coverage and the fact that this thread exist shows that it is now political. If my wife got stopped for the same thing, no one would ever know. So yes, this is now political.

I would respect him a lot more if he said something along the lines of loving and standing by his wife but respecting DPD and that he’d have more to say as the investigation concludes. Then if the blood results come back that she was intoxicated he can say something about his family making no excuses and taking responsibility. Then moving on. That’s just me.
