She didn't just get a DWI, she got the felony variety.
It sounds like he either doesn't understand the DWI statute or he understands it very well and he's being intentionally misleading by focusing on the alcohol angle. It's interesting that he says DPD put his grandson in danger by leaving him with two officers until he was picked up. How is that putting him in danger? His wife was allegedly showing some type of evidence of impairment, but I guess the grandson was safer with her driving him around. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

DUI isn’t even a thing in Texas unless you’re a minor. DWI is what she’s charged with which covers ANY intoxicant, not just alcohol.
