P.S. This is for handguns, rifles and shotguns.

Flame Suit On.

One product for everything? Breakfree CLP. Cleans, Lubricates, Protects, does an ok but not the best job on removing copper fouling from rifles and plastic wad fouling from shotguns.

What I use? Ed's Red Bore Cleaner, Humpy's White Copper Remover, and 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil for lubrication and exterior surfaces. All three of them are inexpensive and effective.

The recipes for Ed's Red and Humpy's White are here:

Please read and heed the safety instructions.

I fill a baby food jar with patches and soak them with Hoppe's #9. Wet patch every time and no spillage on my bench.

For 90% of my cleaning nowadays all I use is Corrosion X and Bore Snakes. For heavy cleaning it starts with Hoppe's #9/brush/patches, followed by Corrosion X and a Bore Snake.
