Got back into my running routine last week (I typically only run during the fall and winter months). I am pretty sure I could finish that race if I started at the 25 mile marker. Even then I aint so sure I could win though.

How’s your walking coming biscuit? Really good, I’m up to 5 miles as my longest so far with over half running. Feeling great and the dog loves it too

Well here It is. My gps watch logged 26.46 miles and said I did 26.2 (marathon) in 3:59:20. But start to finish my official time was 4:02:12. It was a great run. My first 6 miles were too slow and then I fought the rest of the way to get on pace to officially break 4 hours. Just couldn’t do It. I don’t care though. That was never really a goal. At mile 8 I had some beer, at mile 13 I had some Bloody Mary with vodka, and at mile 20 I had more beer lol. That was nice. And this was the first marathon I’ve done that I didn’t walk at all. Oh and the course was beautiful.

Man I’m on a high right now. I’ve always wanted to kill myself after marathons, but I guess proper training paid off. Just a really nice run. And lots of scenery of the female type.

Cbump , what is your desired pace ? Just like 10 to 10:30 per mile. Don’t know about cbump, but it used to bother me that I never ever broke 50 minutes in a 10k. I could run 6 miles in under 50 minutes, but that little extra distance did me in every time. I got close, and I tried hard, but didn’t get it done. Maybe some of you fleet footed fellows could do it. I never was speedy. When I was running a lot years ago at 24 years old, my best half marathon was 1 hr 42 min. But I never broke a 4 hr marathon. My first marathon I got 4 hr 20 minutes. Second, I probably could have done It but I did the weekend challenge. Saturday I ran the cowtown 10k at 45 minutes. Then the next morning (marathon morning) I woke up sore and ran a 4hr 5 min. I just want to do this one. Once I’m back in good running shape, maybe I’ll do another one and shoot for under 4 hrs. Well I did better than i was planning 4 months ago and a PR.
