Come on, man. It may not be a spider, but it’s just as nasty. Don’t do that. Some of us need to sleep, tonight.

I’m honestly shocked and amassed at how many in here are afraid of spiders and other insects.

This dude lives in my shop, he crawled up my arm one day when I moved his house.

I let a tarantula sit on my shoulder one day during a pistol qual. It’s was a cool day and he wasn’t moving well. I didn’t want him to get stepped on so I gave him a ride. Eventually found a safe boulder for him to warm up on.

Land lobsters from hell are emerging in Big Bend after summer rains

Rain doesn't just bring floods and flowers. It apparently also awakens creatures that appear to come from the depths of hell.

Big Bend National Park in Texas shared a photo this week of a visitor near a campsite: A vinegaroon, a sort of ungodly land lobster that can shoot acid from its tail.

I was underneath a trailer running wire one day and I just happen to look to my left and a big tarantula a foot wide and 8 inches tall with 2 inch fangs was about a foot from my face and in it defensive mode with the front legs up and growling at me. I must have hit my head 5 times trying to get out from under that trailer.

Last edited by HWY_MAN; 07/17/21 11:08 AM. Reason: OK he was only 4 inches wide and the growl may have been me passing gas.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Love them as long as they are west of me.

So true story...I had a weekend off from work and my Dad was trying to level his pier & beam house. House that he grew up in that belonged to my Grandparents. I showed up and got after it, digging planting blocks, cranking jacks etc. I was skinny back then and Dad said I needed to crawl up under the house on my back and stick another jack at the next floor beam. Long story short, I crawled my skinny azz under the house and was doing work & almost done when I turned my head straight up. There was a giant wolf spider 3" from my face. I don't like spiders at all, and reversed as fast as I could with my legs kicking pretty hard according to Dad. I hit my face and my forehead on the very wood that my Grandpa nailed together when he built that house. Had red marks all over my face and forehead swoll up a little. Dad was laughing is butt off and said "Son, what the hell are you doing". He got a kick out of that, ha ha.

Sure miss him......Wish he was here to bitch me out again.....
