My wife just had shoulder done. Much worse than the first one. 9 to 12 month recovery from what the dr said yesterday. She’s about six weeks into it. Came out of the brace yesterday.
The first few weeks she was knocking back margaritas just to keep from crying it hurt so bad and she’s a tough Southeast Texas girl.
Shoulder surgery must be rough.
Thanks, Billy

If you need any help while your recovering give me a shout. I don’t mind to help around the farm one bit.

Pay attention to your Physical Therapist, they are the ones that get you past this.

Just talked to the head tennis coach to tell him I was out of service for a good while. Looks like every old tennis coach around has had the surgery. Anyway, he said if I get the rehab here at the local hospital rehab place, to tell them I work with the kids in the tennis program, and they’ll extend the rehab if need be. He and I will move to working with the Jr High kids, which I call “the farm team”, and we’ll prep em for varsity tennis. It’s good to be needed.
Couple of days ago, pre surgery, wife and I had lunch at the Kosse truck stop (McCarver’s restr). Good buffet and good chicken fried steak. Our young waitress was one of the JV girls, and we knew each other instantly. When I went t pay the bill, her Mom said she had come over and whispered to her that I was ‘Captain Kirk” (the kids can remember that). She told her Mom that I was great to work with, and funny. That’s why I keep doing the tennis. I just love the kids. Some don’t have much, or even much of a family life. I tell em all that I’m their tennis grandfather, and sometimes that’s all the grandpa they have. I get a lot of hugs and smiles, and some call me grandpa. Warms my heart…
