Probably a stupid question, but what regs/controls exist to keep scrap yards honest?

Theft generates money. Why else would you need a 2000 dollar cat replaced from the dealership . Or a 3000 dollar tail gate. I would like to make a poo bomb for anyone that gets under the truck.

It's not just Corpitos, it's all over the place. Plenty of this kinda [censored] happens in Houston every day, but if the lawbreaker is black it makes the news.

White boys and Meskins get shot while committing a crime and whatever....

This whole thing is stupid. Pathetic, actually.....

They are required to enter every transaction with the DL or ID number of the seller into a database that law enforcement has access to. All the ones where I was a cop, also had still shots or video of the seller conducting the transaction. The issue is the cat converters aren't serialized or have the VIN on them, so proving where it came from is almost impossible. I etched my VIN on my Tundra cat in 5 places just to screw any thief that might ever steal it. Luckily I live in the woods now and never go to the city anymore, so there is very little likelihood of it ever being stolen or the person who tries, surviving the endeavor.

Is he dealing with a remedial dealership?

Buy them and install them yourself for like $500 tops. Dealership is taking that dude for a ride.

Side note I’m glad to see you’re alive and your GF didn’t kill you. Haven’t seen you on in a while. I thought the worst.

Hell, come steal mine lol. We do not have emissions and 5k to replace that POS or put a 78mm turbo in its place sounds like a fair trade.
