My favorate time to talk to other duck hunters is when I'm not hunting. I love finding out someone is a fellow duck hunter. Hell the other day I met someone new while working..we got to talking then somehow got to the subject of hunting. Losing track of time we ended up talking over an hour.
Stop fibbin' Marc... your favorite way to look at other duck hunters is through your rifle scope.

I did see some pretty coold stuff last year when quite a few from this forum offered up spots in the boat for new or less experienced hunters and it was really cool. With fewer and fewer hunters going out each year, I hope that kind of stuff stays around.
Does that mean I have a spot in your boat this year?

If any of you guys that don't hate other hunters (I kid I kid) want to help out a newbie this year, I have a small boat and decoys and an open back seat any time I am off work and can travel. I just need someone that knows how to scout and call!

I don't talk to many folks at the ramp before the hunt. I'll help them launch their boat or whatever to assist them when I'm in a public hunting area.
If I see a guy or small group in a small Johnboat at the ramp, and I'm by myself, then I will chat with them and have even offered to have them hunt with me. Usually the opening weeks are the most reclusive, anti-social periods of public hunting in the areas that I hunt. It gets competitive as most of us know.
After the hunt, it is another story. I'll tell you honestly how we did. If we did well, you can bet I'm in the water before you the next am.
