Anyone have any experience with this. I think it's fairly new. Looks intriguing. Wondering how deer or cattle might impact it's operation.

Seems like it would be easy to copy, you might be able to source net from a batting-cage. Deer could jump out; cows wouldn't nose their way in.

Also, you could make a cattle-panel pen, and use netting as a 5-10' gate on one end and it would work the same.

I have two circle-6 traps set up. I could widen the gate area and put up some net and see what happens. Trick will be time to do it all and re-baiting if I'm not there.

What makes everything work is the net proportions which allow pigs in, but not out. I think you'd have to play with things a bit to get that exactly right.

As stated above, that's nice soft ground in that video. I didn't see one rock. Besides t-posts, it looked like you hooked the net to other spikes in the ground. On my place, you gotta look hard for the dirt between rocks. If they do sell 'em, I bet their profit margin is quite healthy for some netting and spikes.

But what do I know? I was completely skunked this week, with all kinds of different traps. All I know to do is keep trying, keep improving on what's failed, and persevere!

I doubt that thing is at it seems. Along with the setup not being that easy, I just dont see how big aggressive strong hogs are going to be kept inside that thing. Im not sure how they would get out, but my guts says they would.

You can see in the video that the hogs have completely trampled the interior portion of the net into one big muddy mess on the ground. In fact... you can't even see that portion of the net any more. Bet that is fun to pick up and clean later.

Reviving thread - I just saw their website and was intrigued, but also see some issues. I've trapped a couple of boars in the 250+ range and I'm not convinced they would be held in this mesh when it is time to start shooting - maybe, maybe not, but I would hate to be too close when/if they got through the net. Also, pretty expensive for what you get. Thinking it would be much easier, cheaper, and safer to do as others here have suggested and source the netting for use as a gate on a wire panel pen. It is a pretty good idea...

Pretty much guarantee you that when a group all start 'piling up' on one end that some will climb right over the backs of others and jump out. I've had that happen with traditional wire panels 60" high. Time will tell if it will catch on....buy the Smart Money says...NOT.

Concept looks decent. Price is terrible. Trap size is too small. No doubt they are only showing best results. I would look on Youtube for other results to see if anyone else is having the same proclaimed success. Also, this trap is only good if you plan on shooting them all inside. You aren't backing a trailer up and loading up hogs to go to market with this design.

Knowing how hogs start running when the shooting starts inside a trap, I wonder how well this holds up. What if the ground is wet?

The process they are explaining looks really simple, but you are basically grooming hogs to be conditioned to going under the net. Yeah, you don't have to stay up all night waiting on a picture on your phone from a camera trap (Idiot probably don't know how to change the alerts on his phone to wake him up, LOL), but there is several stages of work again of getting the hogs into the trap before it is ready. They sort of gloss over that in the video.

IF I were a younger man....that might apply and I would certainly be flattered, but I'll be 67 this December.....so I've probably attained all the 'wisdom' I'm ever going to have. My Wife would argue that it is precious little.


Looking at various other videos of the product...they expand a little to show a need for a 'Boar Guard' which is a second layer of netting set inside the trap to keep the hogs from reaching and damaging the base netting. They tout the strength of the netting and I have no doubt that even the largest hog will NOT run through it. But they WILL pull at it, chew on it and walk on it (abrading it).

In one of the videos you can see that in short order the inside of the trap has become one muddy, damn mess...with the hogs having trampled the netting into the ground. That would be some kind of fun to clean. And if left to dry... will become permanently caked into the soil. To the company's credit they DO offer a 60 day money back guarantee.....which I predict will be the most used feature of the unit.

But IMO...portable panels are the way to go (with a WIDE opening/gate).

Not mine....just an example of portable panels.

Mine are in permanent locations on my property and rarely get moved.

But for those needing to set up a trap system quickly and move it often... portable panels are the way to go.

I am able to use traditional T posts and utility panels.

What a silly gimmick.

All the traps are gimmicks, when you think about it. People buy them and buy lots of them. Then they try using them a few times and pretty soon that bus has left the depot for most folks. The only difference is that in 10 years all that will be left of the PigBrig is a few stakes in the ground. I have traps on properties I hunt that have sizable trees growing out of them.

The problem of with the trap solution is that the buyers think that if they trap and kill the hogs, that the hogs will be gone, but then figure out that the hogs keep coming and as it turns out, trapping and killing is a goodly amount of work. It helps if you enjoy the work, have time for it, and stay after it. Otherwise, it will just be another failure. The question then is just how much money it has cost you.
