The population decline is due to the coyotes with "acme" explosives, etc.

One afternoon on a ranch in the Hebbronville area I watched a roadrunner performing some sort of hypnosis trick on a bobwhite quail. The road runner was all puffed up, and slowly flapping one wing, as the quail watched from about 3 ft away. I had no doubt the quail was getting ready to be taken out by the roadrunner. All I could do was watch, as it was happening on the other side of a boundary fence.

I love them. I saw one today on one of the cedar piles that are stacking up out here. He looked like he was having a good day. And, by the by, I think you mean "paisano", unless you mean the Italian sculptor (1270? - 1348)?

Cool birds. Used to see one around here but haven't seen it in years. now.

Fun fact, all the folks headed to south of the border during the end of the year holidays are referred to as “ Paisanos”.

Gossip dies when it hits a wise person’s ears. Rumor and lies are created by haters, spread by fools, and unfortunately believed by the naïve!
