The scales are certainly Mesquite and the bolsters are most likely some type of antler or bone.

Why did he stop selling here?

This is a pigtail file knife I commissioned from Frank Scukanec (STIC) for my charity auction last summer. I assume the steel is 1095 since it came from a file, and the handle is made of mesquite wood and elk bolster. It's paired with a shark skin sheath crafted by Ed chamberlain. Very nice set and I hope you get years of use out of it!

I'm not sure, he usually received his asking price in around thirty seconds of his post start time... Guess he got tired of working so hard!

For some untold reason he went over to the TBH forum and plies his wares there. He left and would come back occasionally to sell something like a watch or something, but not his knives. Which seemed odd at the time. I had around a dozen of his knives at one time but now I'm down to only a few.

I'm here and sell knives when I get an email or PM. But yes had to slow down a bit LOL<><
